Chibi-Maru Fleet Mutsu is a cute distorted kit of the Japanese battleship Mutsu from Fujimi — a shortened hull, an easy build and no conventional scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Chibi-Maru Fleet Mutsu from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi turns the battleship Mutsu into the playful distorted form of the Chibi-Maru line. This is not a scale model — the hull is shortened and the massive gun turrets deliberately exaggerated, so the finished ship comes across as a cute caricature of one of the most powerful ships of her day. Thanks to the simple construction the build is quick and undemanding.
Mutsu was the second ship of the Nagato class, the first battleships in the world armed with 410 mm guns. In the 1920s and 1930s she was, together with her sister Nagato, the pride of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Her service ended in June 1943, when the ship was destroyed by the explosion of a magazine at her moorings in home waters.
Separate the parts with sharp nippers and clean the edges up with a knife. Bond them with a thin cement for plastic and paint them with acrylics — complete the gray scheme with a darker deck and a black funnel. A little drybrushing on the edges of the turrets will give the model depth, and a final matte varnish will protect the paint.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
