Clever Helper is an aid for the modeling bench that serves to grip and hold small components. Small kit parts, photo-etched elements, wheels or resin details can be held in it for the whole time of the work, without the modeler having to grip them with his fingers. That removes the most frequent cause of a spoiled part: a fingerprint in fresh paint, smeared glue on a visible surface, or a part that jumps out of a grip and ends up on the floor.
It is most useful at the moment when you need to hold a part and at the same time have both hands free for a tool. Typically that means sanding a mold parting line, applying glue to a small area, stippling with a brush or spraying a single part with an airbrush. The holder can be put down with the part still gripped, so a painted component dries away from the work surface and does not touch it. Before painting, it pays to check that the grip holds the part by an area that will not be visible.
A practical note
The aid is not limited to modeling; it will serve just as well in fine work with electronics or jewelry. The particular version and the color shades may differ from delivery to delivery.
