Three mature conifers, height 15.2 to 17.7 cm. Finished pieces with a pin and a removable base.

A grown spruce or fir looks different from a young tree: the trunk is bare at the bottom, because the lower branches died off for want of light, and the mass of the crown has moved upward. The tallest conifers in the range have this shape, and so they suit places where the wood is meant to be old rather than recently planted.
The individual trees reach 15.2 to 17.7 cm, which is six to seven inches, and there are three in the package. The lower count at the greatest height matches the way such trees are used: they are not planted in thickets but singly or in small groups where each one has room enough for its crown.
They work best on the crest of a slope and on the horizon of a scene, where their tips make a jagged line against the background. The second good place is the immediate foreground, where a tall trunk divides the view and the scene behind it gains depth. Combined with lower conifers, they give a stand of trees the range of ages that tall pieces alone do not have.
Nothing is assembled. The pin under the trunk is pushed into the terrain, and the removable base lets the tree be stood up without cutting into the surface. On tall pieces it is advisable to walk around the tree once it is planted and check it from every side, because conifers tend to have one better-looking side and that one should face the viewer.
The greenery under the trees and the fixing material are not in the package.
Tall trunks take low undergrowth beneath them. Anyone who adds a few small bushes under the crown will cover the place where the pin enters the terrain, and the transition stops being noticeable.
