A red shade from the range of the manufacturer AMMO of Mig Jimenez, listed under the name Crystal Red. It suits anywhere a model is to get a striking red area or detail: from vehicle bodies and accessories to small parts on figures and dioramas. A shade from one range combines easily with other paints from the same manufacturer, because it is thinned with the same thinner and they dry in a similar way.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, since the pigment settles at the bottom while it stands. Choose the thinner that the manufacturer specifies for this range and set the thinning ratio according to the instructions on the packaging; there is no universal ratio, as it varies with the pressure and the nozzle. With an airbrush, lay down several thin coats and let the surface set between them, otherwise the paint loses the sharpness of the edges and creeps into the engraved lines. With a brush, two thin coats are better than one heavy one, which leaves brush marks.
Red shades cover less well than most other paints and come through only slowly over a dark surface. It therefore pays to spray a light base, ideally white or light gray, and only then the red. The paint then comes out more saturated and you get by with fewer coats. Wash and degrease the surface before applying it; on greasy plastic the paint holds badly and peels when masking is removed.
The model, thinner, brushes and an airbrush are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
