Academy Da Vinci - Leverage Crane is a mechanical kit of the lever crane from Leonardo da Vinci's design, with a working movement of the arm.
Responsibility details are not available.
A kit from the Da Vinci Machines series from Academy, which reproduces the lever crane designed by Leonardo da Vinci. It is not a scale model of construction machinery but an educational mechanical kit: once assembled, the model demonstrates the principle of the lever and the transfer of force by which loads were lifted and moved. The plastic parts are styled to look like a wooden structure.
In his sketches Leonardo returned repeatedly to lifting and construction machines. Lever and pulley cranes were meant to ease the work on large building sites, and they are a vivid illustration of Renaissance thinking about mechanics and about saving human effort.
Assembly is from plastic parts. We recommend cleaning up the sprue gates, taking care over the free running of the moving levers and joints, and possibly finishing the surface to look like wood with glazes or drybrushing. Glue with thin modeling cement for plastic, and do not flood the moving joints with glue.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
