Responsibility details are not available.
Dark Earth is the dark earthy brown that everyone who builds British equipment of the Second World War knows. Paired with green it made up the camouflage of the upper surfaces of British aircraft early in the war, and in its various versions you will meet it on ground equipment and on kit as well. The shade is fairly dark and looks best on a model when you lighten it, because in a small scale dark colors appear darker still than they really are.
Stir the paint thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles in the bottle. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging, and use the thinner intended for this range. Spray in thin coats and let each become tacky in between, because one heavy coat will drown the detail and the panel edges. The surface has to be clean and degreased, and on smooth surfaces a primer coat pays off. Close the bottle carefully after work, as dried paint on the rim stops the cap from seating.
It suits the camouflage of British aircraft, ground equipment and earthy tones in a diorama, that is muddy ground, dusty deposits and soil. It also takes toning well: a drop of a light color in the base shade creates a highlight in the middle of an area and visually enlarges the model.
Thinner, brushes and other accessories are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
