The Dark Green PLAYMARKER Marker Pen

A marker pen of the PLAYMARKER range in a dark green shade. The tip applies the paint directly, so there is no brush, no palette and no mixing. That pays off on small surfaces and narrow elements, where preparing the paint would take longer than the painting itself, and on short jobs for which it is not worth opening a bottle.

Where the color is used

Dark green is one of the most frequently used colors on models. It suits field gear, pouches, tarpaulins and sleeping bags, the green parts of figures' clothing, small accessories on vehicles set apart from the basic finish, and undergrowth and foliage in a diorama. It also serves as the darker tone beside the lighter greens of the range when a difference is meant to show on a single surface.

How to Work with the Marker Pen

• Try the shade out in advance on an offcut, so that you know how it behaves on the given base.
• Work in thin coats; you reach saturation by going over it again, not by pressing harder.
• Wipe a clogged tip so that it does not carry paint from the previous surface onto the model.
• A flat base holds the paint better than a smooth gloss varnish.
• Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the package for thinning, cleaning the tip and any overcoating.
• Tighten the cap after work, otherwise the tip will dry out.
