Bandai builds its character kits as snap-fit: the parts click together without glue and are usually made on color-separated sprues, so you can assemble the character even without painting.
Darklops Zero comes from the Japanese science fiction series Ultraman, where it appears as the dark robotic counterpart of the main hero. The character has the typically mechanical, sharply cut look with a dark color scheme that sets it apart from the classic heroic characters of the series. In a collection it works well as an opponent alongside other characters from the same universe.
Remove the parts from the sprues with nippers and clean up the remains of the gates with a scalpel, because on snap-fit kits a visible burr is the most noticeable flaw. Do not overextend the movable joints and go slowly when trying out poses, so that a pin does not break. You will push the surface detail further with a thin liner in the engraved lines and a discreet accent on the edges. Anyone who is going to paint should start with a primer coat, as paint otherwise holds badly on smooth plastic. Finally even out the surface with matte or satin varnish, depending on how glossy a look you want.
