A science fiction kit from the Japanese brand Bandai, marked in the name with the HG range and the sequence number 2. As with the brand's other models, this is a snap-fit build: the parts have their color already in the plastic and snap together, so you manage entirely without glue and without painting. The scale is not given in the name; check it on the box.
Dragonar is the designation of a mecha machine from Japanese anime, and this set makes a pair with the first set of the same name. Each can be built on its own, but collectors usually build them as a pair for one display case, which is exactly why it pays to keep the same approach to finishing on both, so that they match in color and sheen.
Divide the build up into subassemblies and leave the sprues in their bags until their turn comes, so that the small parts do not get lost. Nip the gates off leaving a margin and trim them with a knife; on colored plastic a white mark immediately draws the eye. If you take up the finishing, go in order: panel lines first, then decals and finally a unifying varnish, which beds the decals in and calms the surface. If you want to spray the whole model, reckon with a primer; otherwise paint holds poorly on smooth pre-colored plastic.
The parts are pre-colored and snap together. Glue and paints are not needed for the build, and varnishing is optional.
