A Gun Metal shade from AMMO's DRYBRUSH line, designed for the dry-brushing technique. It highlights edges, rivets and metal parts where bare metal should show through.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a paint prepared for the dry-brushing technique, that is, for highlighting edges, protrusions, rivets and raised detail. The Gun Metal shade targets the look of dark gun steel with a metallic sheen, the kind that appears on a model wherever the paint has worn through to bare metal.
Typically on weapon barrels and breeches, worn edges of tracks and road wheels, metal engine parts, chains, tools, hinges and latches. It suits military equipment, figures and small ship-model fittings alike. Since it is a finishing step, it is applied only on top of a finished, dried base coat.
Load a small amount of paint onto a stiffer flat brush and wipe almost all of it off on a paper towel. Only then run it lightly over the surface, so the paint catches only on raised areas. Work in layers and prefer passing over it several times; it is harder to remove excess than to add more paint. For dry brushing the paint is usually not thinned, but if you do need a thinner, follow the manufacturer's instructions on the package. Stir the jar before use, since metal pigments settle to the bottom quickly, and close it carefully after use.
The package contains the paint itself. Brushes, thinner and a cleaner are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
