Sira Hobby streaking effect, dirty rust

A liquid weathering product from Sira Hobby intended for creating a streaking effect in a dirty rust shade. It is not a paint for general coverage but a weathering product with which realistic runs of rust and dried grime are created on models, flowing down from rivets, edges, panels and seams. It suits military vehicles, ships, aircraft and dioramas alike, wherever the long-term action of moisture and corrosion has to be suggested.

Use

• Creating vertical runs of rust and grime on vertical surfaces and under projections
• Emphasizing the aging of metal surfaces, armor and ship hulls
• Applied with a brush in a stripe, then spread and softened downwards with a damp brush
• By layering it, the intensity can be built up from a gentle hint to a pronounced run

Work tips

Apply the effect over a matte varnished surface, so that the product holds better and can be spread. Work in small areas and draw off the excess with a brush lightly moistened in a suitable thinner. Unify the result with a final matte varnish. Stir the contents before use.
