The real subject

The Avro Lancaster was a British four-engine heavy bomber of the Second World War. The versions modified for the raid on the dams (Dambuster) carried a rotating bomb released in flight, while the versions for the Grand Slam and Tallboy bombs attacked especially hardened targets. The large glazing and several gun turrets make masking a time-consuming part of the build.

Use

• Stick the masks onto a cleaned surface and press them onto the frames and the turrets.
• Apply the paint with an airbrush; once it has dried, remove the masks carefully.
• Mask the wheels separately for a crisp hub-to-tire transition.
