HEKI Chestnut 20 cm, 1 pc is a mature model tree with a massive dense crown.
Responsibility details are not available.
A finished model tree from the German maker HEKI, twenty centimeters tall. The horse chestnut, commonly called a chestnut, has a dense, evenly vaulted crown set fairly low, so on a layout it looks massive and takes up more room than a poplar of the same height. That is a property to allow for when laying out a scene, but it is also the reason a chestnut suits places where a tree is meant to cast shade or close off a view.
The tree is pushed into a pre-drilled hole or glued by the foot of the trunk. With a twenty-centimeter piece carrying a dense crown, stability is essential: make the hole deeper and fix the trunk in it with a drop of glue, otherwise the tree will lean over time under the weight of the crown. Spread the flattened branches carefully with your fingers after unpacking and leave the outline of the crown slightly irregular, as a perfectly round shape gives the model away. Add grass and low growth under the tree, because bare ground under the crown is conspicuous on a model.
For layout and diorama builders who need a massive tree as a landmark, and for modelers fine-tuning the surroundings of buildings and village greens. This is modeling material, not a toy. The manufacturer marks its scenery products as unsuitable for children under fifteen.
