About product

HEKI Palmette Fruit Trees 2.5 cm, 36 pcs

A set of thirty-six trained model fruit trees from the German maker HEKI, about two and a half centimeters tall, supplied with posts. A palmette, that is, an espalier-trained tree, is a growing form in which a fruit tree is trained flat along a wall or on a wire frame, so it takes up little room and the fruit is easy to reach. On a model it is a detail that reveals care at once: such a tree does not grow by itself, somebody had to train it.

Use

  • palmette fruit trees along walls and fences
  • gardens and front gardens by family houses
  • farmyards and monastery or manor gardens
  • south-facing walls of buildings where fruit was grown
  • regular rows in fruit-growing areas

How to work with the small trees

The small trees are glued by the foot with a drop of PVA glue, and the posts are pushed into prepared holes. A palmette only makes sense where it has something to lean on, so set it along a wall, a fence or a row of posts, not free-standing in the open. Keep the spacing regular, because this is a cultivated planting. Work with tweezers on parts this small and expect them to be easy to lose.

Who the set is for

For builders of layouts and dioramas with gardens and farmyards and for modelers fine-tuning detail around buildings. This is modeling material with small parts, not a toy. The manufacturer marks its scenery products as unsuitable for children under fifteen.

FAQ

Thirty-six pieces.

A growing form in which a fruit tree is trained flat along a wall or on a wire frame; in English also an espalier-trained tree.

Along a wall, a fence or a row of posts. They do not belong free-standing in the open, as they have nothing to lean on.
