A model maple 30 cm tall for dioramas and layouts, supplied as one piece.
Responsibility details are not available.
The maple is a sturdy broadleaf tree with a short thick trunk and a broad, densely branched crown that spreads sideways more than upward. Its palmately lobed leaves are among the best known of all. In a scene a maple therefore has a different job from slender trees: it casts shade, closes off a view and can be used to hide the edge of the base or an unsuccessful corner of the backdrop.
This is one tree thirty centimeters tall. It is a mature piece that will not go unnoticed in a scene, and it is worth adapting the composition to that: set it toward the back or in a corner so that it does not overpower the main subject. Details of the finish and of whether the tree needs any further work are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
Drill a hole in the base to match the diameter of the lower part of the trunk, stand the tree in dry and turn its best side toward the viewer. Then secure it with PVA or cyanoacrylate glue; with a tree this tall it pays to drill the hole deeper so that the crown does not overbalance it. Cover the foot of the trunk with a thin layer of modeling compound and sprinkle scatter or grass over it, so that the tree grows out of the ground. Allow for shade under the crown and keep the shade of the undergrowth beneath it darker than in the open.
One tree is supplied. The base, scatter material, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
