Static grass from the wild grasses range in a late autumn shade, fiber length 5 to 6 mm, a 75 g package. The fibers are sprinkled into a layer of fresh glue and an electrostatic charge stands them up square as they land. The longer blades splay to the sides and the growth looks unkept, which with autumn grass is exactly the point.
The shade corresponds to grass at the end of the season, when green has given way and the growth has yellowed into earthy tones. It comes into its own in autumn and early-spring scenes, on a stubble field, on an unmown field margin and by abandoned buildings. A length of 5 to 6 mm corresponds to tall growth: in 1:35 scale to grass roughly 17 to 21 cm tall, in 1:87 scale to approximately 43 to 52 cm. It can be combined with green shades for scenes at the turn of the season, where dried-out and living grass grow side by side.
Coat a continuous area with glue for static grass or with thinned PVA glue, stick the grounding pin of the applicator into it and let the fibers fall from the mesh. For tufts, apply the glue in small islands only. Once dry, tap the area out or vacuum it carefully; the fibers that have not stuck can be used again. Trim the ends of the blades unevenly with sharp scissors, as dried-out grass tends to be flattened and of unequal height.
For builders of dioramas, layouts and gaming boards with autumn scenery and for figure modelers working on bases. The package holds the fibers alone; the glue, an applicator and a base are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
