The eight-wheeled BTR-80 armored personnel carrier carries a squad inside, but the crew's personal belongings do not all fit in there. Bags, bundles and other equipment secured with ropes or straps therefore end up on the hull. It is exactly this load that sets a vehicle that is going somewhere apart from a vehicle standing on a display stand.
The set brings the personal equipment of a BTR-80 crew and a spare wheel. The parts are shaped to 1:35 scale and the modeled cloth has the folds and sagging of a filled bag giving way under its own weight. The spare wheel is a separate part, so you choose its placement on the hull yourself.
The load is added only onto a finished hull:
The equipment looks better when it is set apart in color from the vehicle. Faded canvas, darker straps and dust settled in the folds will give the load depth. The rubber of the wheel is best muted toward a grayish shade and the lower part dusted according to the terrain the model stands in.
The set is intended for builders of the BTR-80 in 1:35 scale who want to complete a model with a convincing load. A model, paints and glue are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
