What the accessory is for

Water bottles are among the small things that decide whether a scene looks lived in. An empty truck bed, a bare bench or a clean table look like a display piece; add a few bottles and it becomes a place where someone spent time. That is exactly why small equipment for dioramas is bought: on its own it is not noticed, but without it a scene comes out as a model rather than as a scene.

Where to place them

The bed and the steps of vehicles suggest themselves, as do crates and shelves in an interior, the area around a field kitchen, the wall of a trench or simply the ground beside a seated figure. It tends to be effective not to line the bottles up: two dropped side by side and one overturned look more convincing than a regular row. The form of the bottles differs between items offered under this name, so go by the manufacturer's information.

Building and painting

If the parts are not polystyrene, cement for plastic models has no effect on them and they are bonded with super glue. Cut excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts, or the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. The exact procedure for preparation is given by the manufacturer in the instructions. Painting can be managed after gluing too, but the bottom of a bottle is then hard to paint in, so it is simpler to paint the parts beforehand and only fine-tune the shadows once they are seated. Work with tweezers, as a small part in 1:35 scale is lost faster than you can put it down.

What belongs to the item

The bottles are sold on their own. Figures, vehicles, paints and glue do not belong with them, unless stated otherwise.
