An advertising sign in 1:35 scale for city and suburban dioramas. It fills an empty background and sets a scene in a particular place.

A billboard is a large-format advertising board carried by a frame on posts, usually by a road, on the edge of a town or on the gable wall of a house. For a diorama it is rewarding for two reasons at once: it fills an empty background that would otherwise look unfinished, and at the same time it sets the scene in a particular time and place according to what is pasted on it. In a wartime scene it tends to be torn, shot through or pasted over with other posters, while in a peacetime one it is clean.
Before painting, wash the element and degrease it, cut excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder. Paint the frame and the supporting structure separately from the surface of the board, as a masked surface is then easier to fill in. The poster itself can be suggested with your own paper artwork pasted on flat; once it is dry, sand the paper lightly and dust it with pigment, so that it does not look new. Choose the glue according to the material stated on the packaging.
The sign will be appreciated by modelers who build city or suburban scenes in 1:35 scale and are looking for an element that gives a scene context without much labor. The build is simple and even a beginner will manage it. Paints, glue and the paper artwork of the poster are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
