Photo-etched grilles for the IS heavy tank and the ISU-152 self-propelled gun in 1:35 scale. They replace the solid plastic parts on the engine deck.
Responsibility details are not available.
The grilles on the engine deck are, with Soviet heavy vehicles, one of the first places a viewer looks. A kit usually carries them as a solid part with a suggested texture, so it is impossible to see under them and their thickness in 1:35 scale corresponds to several centimeters in reality. A photo-etched grille removes this disproportion: it has a thickness close to the real thing and it is open, so shadow arises under it and the deck gains depth.
Photo-etched grilles for the IS heavy tank and for the ISU-152 self-propelled gun, which is based on its hull, in 1:35 scale. Check the layout of the fret and the number of parts against the manufacturer's information on the packaging, as well as which release of the kit the grilles are cut for.
Before you fit the grille, remove the suggested texture from the kit part and level the surface flat, or the grille will sit proud. Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface and sand the remainder of the tab down. They are bonded with super glue applied in drops at the edges, as cement for polystyrene will not help here. Degrease the surface before painting and lay down a primer. Underneath it pays to blacken the space, because light plastic showing through gives away that there is nothing under the grille.
The model, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
