An aviation maintenance stepladder for an airfield scene in 1:48 scale; by the name it is the fourth version in a numbered range, with two steps.
Responsibility details are not available.
Rolling steps belong on an airfield apron as naturally as a fuel truck. A technician stands on them when working on the cockpit, on the panels above the engine or on higher parts of the fuselage, and once the job is done they are pushed aside. In a scene they do two things at once: they give the view its scale, because the height of a stepladder is familiar to the eye, and they suggest that something is going on at the machine right now.
An aviation maintenance stepladder in 1:48 scale. The name lists it as the fourth version in a numbered range, gives it two steps and dimensions of 55 mm in height and 56 mm in length. Sister versions in the same range have more steps and differ in height as well, so they can be combined on a single apron. How many parts the stepladder is made up of and what material it is made from is stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
Assemble on a flat board and keep checking that all the feet sit down; a stepladder standing crooked will spoil even a carefully built scene. Pick up the small parts with tweezers, clean and degrease the surfaces before joining them, and choose the glue according to the material stated on the box. Choose the color from a photograph of a real airfield rather than from the color of the aircraft: ground equipment tends to be in a conspicuous shade and tends to be thoroughly worn. Finally, bring out the recesses with a dark wash, go over the edges with a dry brush and even out the surface with a matte varnish.
The aircraft model, figures, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
