A masking set in 1:48 scale for spraying the American national insignia of 1942 to 1943, that is a white star in a round field.
Responsibility details are not available.
In the years 1942 to 1943 the American national insignia took the form of a white star in a round field, without the side bars that came only later. It is exactly this shape that sets machines of the early period of the war apart from later ones. A sprayed marking has one advantage over a decal: it has no edge of carrier film and it merges with the surface, even when that is matte or rough.
This is a masking set with the American national insignia from the period 1942 to 1943, in 1:48 scale. Check the number of insignia, their sizes and the material of the mask against the manufacturer's information on the packaging. The extent of the package and the recommended procedure are on the box and in the manufacturer's instructions.
The masks are stuck on before spraying, never after it. The surface has to be completely dry, smooth and degreased, or the paint will run under the edge. Apply the paint in several weak coats and spray at a right angle to the surface. How many coats are needed and in what order depends on the version of the set, so keep to the manufacturer's instructions.
The set suits modelers in 1:48 scale who are building an American machine of the early period of the war and want to spray the insignia instead of sticking it on. The work is straightforward, but it repays care in pressing the edges down. The model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
