A figure of the Czech fighter pilot Josef Frantisek in 1:72 scale. A small figure for airfield scenes and for models in one seventy-second.
Responsibility details are not available.
Josef Frantisek was a Czech fighter pilot who made his name in 1940. In the Battle of Britain he flew with No. 303 Polish Squadron of the Royal Air Force on the Hawker Hurricane and among the Allied fighter pilots of that summer he was one of the most successful. He died in the autumn of the same year. Standing his figure beside a model of a Hurricane turns a scene into a specific story rather than a generic view of an airfield.
In scale 1:72 a person about 180 centimeters tall comes out at roughly two and a half centimeters. It is a small thing, where what counts is the silhouette and a clean color transition between the flight suit, the vest and the boots; fine shading of the face will not show at normal viewing distance anyway. On the other hand the figure immediately gives the aircraft scale and brings the area around it to life. The version and the number of parts are stated in the manufacturer's description.
It is for builders of aircraft in one seventy-second who are preparing an airfield scene for a model or want to give it life. It fits any model in this scale, but best of all the type the pilot actually flew. The same figure is also made in larger scales, so a collection can be filled out. The aircraft model, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
