A masking set for the model of the Junkers Ju 52/3m g4e in 1:72 scale, prepared for Airfix kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Ju 52 has its glazing divided into a large number of panes, so cutting tape by hand takes more time than building the fuselage itself. Pre-shaped masks shorten that work and keep the edges straight along the whole length of the cabin. According to the name the set is tied to the Ju 52/3m g4e model in 1:72 scale from Airfix. How many masks it contains and whether it also covers the fuselage windows should be checked against the manufacturer's information.
The Junkers Ju 52/3m is a three-engine transport aircraft, recognizable at first glance by its corrugated skin, which earned it a long line of nicknames. It was used to carry cargo and passengers, for airborne tasks and for supplying remote places, and it stayed in service for many years. The g4e designation belongs to the wartime versions, which differ from one another in equipment and in details on the airframe.
First wash and degrease the glazing, and only then stick the masks down, always before spraying. Press the edges down with a blunt point so that paint does not run underneath, and apply thin coats. On a corrugated surface take care that a mask does not overhang into the grooves. Take the masks off shortly after the paint has dried, while they can still be peeled away without tearing the finish. The glazing frames usually have to be sprayed first with the interior color of the cabin and only then with the exterior shade, otherwise the base shows through.
A masking set is supplied. The kit, paints, glue and decals do not belong to it, unless stated otherwise.
