An injection-molded plastic kit of the four-engined piston airliner Douglas DC-6 in 1:144 scale from Roden, in the version of the American company Delta Air Lines. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. It is a classic plastic kit with a split fuselage and wings; take the exact contents of the package and the choice of decal schemes from the enclosed instructions.
The DC-6 was a pressurized long-range airliner from the Douglas company, which followed on from the DC-4 family and became one of the most successful piston aircraft of the postwar era. It was powered by a quartet of radial engines and, thanks to its pressurized cabin, it could fly higher and more comfortably above the weather. It was fielded on long-haul routes with a number of world and American airlines, and some of the machines also served in cargo and military roles.
On the large fuselage of an airliner, glue and fill the longitudinal seams carefully so that they do not stand out once the clear coat is on. You will create polished metal surfaces with metallic paint, which you should stir thoroughly and apply onto a smooth base only at the end, because it is harder to spray over and to mask. Mask the glazing of the cockpit and the small windows before spraying. Decorated airline schemes call for a gloss base under the decals, so that they do not silver.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
