An injection-molded plastic kit of the German two-seat Hannover Cl.II biplane of the First World War in the small 1:144 scale from the Czech maker Valom. It is a set of two complete models (a double set) in one package, together with photo-etched parts for the struts and landing gear and decals for several marking options. In 1:144 scale these are small, rewarding collector's models, as a finished machine measures only a few centimeters.
The Hannover Cl.II was a German two-seat ground-attack and escort biplane of the end of the First World War. The crew sat close together high in the fuselage so that both the pilot and the rear gunner had the best possible view. A peculiarity was the biplane tail with a low fin, which cleared the rear gunner's field of fire to the rear. The machine was agile and tough and was used for attacks on ground targets and for escort duties. It was powered by an inline engine.
In the small 1:144 scale it pays to work with a magnifier and tweezers. The key is seating the interplane struts accurately: bond the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate and let them dry thoroughly. Do not forget the rigging (the bracing wires between the wings and the fuselage), which gives a biplane its characteristic look; stretch it from drawn sprue or from fine modeling thread. Bond the plastic with thin cement in small drops. Apply the camouflage patterns and decals patiently.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included, unless stated otherwise.
