1:16 U.S. tank crew WWII - no. 2 is a pair of resin half figures of American tankers of the Second World War for the open hatches of models at 120 mm.
Responsibility details are not available.
A pair of half figures of American tankers in 1:16 scale, that is at a height of around 120 mm. The figures are modeled roughly down to the waist, because they are intended for the open hatch of a turret or a driver's hatch, where the legs would not be visible anyway. The Italian studio Royal Model casts them in polyurethane resin, which holds the sharp edges of the folds as well as the small buttons.
The crews of Shermans and light Stuarts wore a one-piece working coverall of sturdy twill, a short winter jacket over it and on the head a leather helmet with reinforced pads over the ears into which the headphones fitted. In action a number of men put a steel helmet on over it. It is exactly this mismatched look that makes a tanker a rewarding subject, because he differs from an infantryman at a glance.
Cut the casting blocks off the backs with a fine-bladed saw, level the surface and fill the joints. Resin holds with cyanoacrylate glue and needs a primer before spraying. The faces look most convincing when the undercoat is brightened with oil paints and the shadows are allowed to run into the eye sockets and under the chin.
The figures are sold unassembled and unpainted, without a vehicle, glue and paints.
