Voyager Model 1:16 photo-etch for the Browning M2HB machine gun

An accessory for modelers in 1:16 scale from Voyager Model. It is a basic set of photo-etched metal parts for a model of the American Browning M2HB heavy machine gun in the version on a general-purpose mount. In a large scale the thin sheet-metal elements, the cooling holes and the brackets are decisive to the eye, and a plastic part cannot capture them. The kit of the machine gun is not included in the package. In 1:16 scale the weapon is large enough for the difference between a plastic and a metal part to show at first glance.

The real subject

The Browning M2HB is a heavy machine gun of 12.7 millimeter caliber, taken into service at the turn of the 1920s and 1930s. It serves to this day practically unchanged, which among weapons is an absolute exception. It is used as a vehicle weapon, as an anti-aircraft and as an infantry weapon, and its heavy barrel with its pronounced cooling fins is among the most recognizable silhouettes of twentieth-century military hardware.

Use

• cut the parts from the fret with a sharp knife on a hard surface; do not break them out
• make the bends over a metal ruler or in a photo-etch bender
• glue with super glue applied with the tip of a wire
• cut off the plastic parts the photo-etch replaces and sand the area flat
• degrease the metal before painting and give it a primer for metal

The set is intended for more experienced modelers. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
