The Peugeot 306 Maxi is one of the most distinctive rally cars of the second half of the 1990s. It was created under the rules of the time for kit car machines, which allowed only two driven wheels but otherwise gave the designers a great deal of freedom: hence the strongly widened body, the track pushed out to the edge of the fenders and the striking aerodynamic devices. It was powered by a naturally aspirated two-liter inline four-cylinder engine driving the front wheels. It was on asphalt that cars of this type made their mark most, because through the corners they could keep pace with the four-wheel-drive machines. The EVO2 designation belongs to a later evolution stage of the car.
This is a kit to be assembled and painted. In 1:24 scale the finished model comes out around seventeen centimeters long. The range of parts, the marking options and which rally version the set captures are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
On a rally car the body decides everything. First sand and degrease the surface, apply the paint in thin coats and let it cure thoroughly, and only then start on the markings. Fit the clear parts after painting and use a glue that will not fog them. Finish the interior, the roll cage and the chassis parts before you put the body on, because after that you will not get inside. Leave the wheels and tires to the very end, as they are easily soiled during handling.
Paints, thinner, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
