An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Chevrolet Cameo pickup of the 1955 model year in the Coca-Cola collector edition in 1:25 scale from AMT. According to the manufacturer, the kit contains a new Coca-Cola decal sheet with a range of period motifs, whitewall tires and, as a bonus, a period soda vending machine and a two-wheel hand truck - ideal accessories for the shelf and for a diorama.
The Chevrolet Cameo Carrier was an unusual pickup for its time - it came with smooth sides to the cargo bed, covered by fiberglass panels, so it looked more elegant than the utility vehicles of the day with their exposed fenders. It was produced in series from the middle of the 1950s and foreshadowed the modern conception of passenger pickups. Combined with the traditional Coca-Cola brand, this edition makes a charming retro model of an advertising delivery vehicle out of it.
Smooth the body, spray a primer and paint it in a rich two-tone finish according to the period schemes; for gloss, overcoat with a clear coat and polish. Apply the Coca-Cola decals patiently and soften them with a decal softener. Fit the chrome parts (bumpers, grille, trim) and the glazing only after painting, and pick the whitewall tires out in clean white. Paint the vending machine and the hand truck separately, as accessories in their own right. Glue the plastic with thin polystyrene cement.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
