Replacement landing flaps for a model of the BAe Hawk T.1A trainer in 1:32 scale, by its name built for the Revell kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The BAe Hawk T.1A is a British jet trainer on which pilots also learn the combat use of an aircraft. It is a low, cleanly shaped machine on which lowered landing flaps leave a strong mark on the silhouette: a machine standing with its flaps down looks quite different from a model with them retracted.
Replacement landing flaps in 1:32 scale. Kits tend to have the flaps molded solidly into the wing in the retracted position, so a model can be built in only one form. Separate parts change that: the flaps are fitted in the lowered position, as the machine stands on the ground, and the exposed places in the wing get inner walls. The number of parts and their extent are given on the box.
According to the manufacturer's instructions it may be necessary to cut the original flaps out of the wing and level the cut surface; the instructions give the extent of the work. Cut with a sharp blade in two passes and rather take off too little, since a file can even things up while material removed is hard to put back. Fit the parts dry first and check the angle of deflection and the gap on both wings against each other. Cut the excess material and the marks left by manufacture away a little way from the part and sand the remainder back, then wash and degrease the parts. They are not polystyrene, cement for plastic models has no effect on them, so reach for super glue.
It suits builders of the Hawk in 1:32 scale who want to build a model in the form of a machine standing on the ground.
The aircraft model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
