Replacement F100-PW-220 engine exhaust nozzles in the closed position, scale 1:32, for the F-15 kit from Tamiya.
Responsibility details are not available.
The twin-engine F-15 was built in the pure fighter versions A, B, C and D, in the two-seat Strike Eagle form and in the Japanese F-15J version. Early machines are powered by F100-PW-220 engines whose exhaust nozzles have a variable area. The petals of the nozzle draw in and open out according to the setting, so two otherwise identical machines on a ramp can have a markedly different tail. The drawn-in position has a narrower mouth and the lengthwise division of the petals stands out on it more strongly.
A pair of exhaust nozzles in the drawn-in, that is closed position in 1:32, to be fitted in place of the parts from the Tamiya kit. The set is intended for the F-15A, B, C, D, the early E and the J versions with F100-PW-220 engines. If you want fully open nozzles on the model instead, a matching set is sold separately.
The parts are not made of polystyrene and are glued with cyanoacrylate. Cut excess material away with a sharp blade a little from the part and sand the remainder down; try the seating surface dry, so that the nozzle joins the fuselage without a step. Wash and degrease before painting. Lay metallic shades on in thin coats and build the heat staining up toward the mouth of the nozzle. The rest of the procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
For modelers who build the F-15 in the large scale and want to give the tail a shape matching closed nozzles.
The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
