Exhaust nozzles for the F-4 Phantom II in the B, C, D and N versions in 1:32 scale from Reskit replace the weakest spot of the rear end with hollow castings.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set replaces both exhaust nozzles on a model of the F-4 Phantom II in the B, C, D and N versions. The castings are hollow and have the inner petals worked out, so the rear end is left with neither a blind hole nor a visible lengthwise seam from the mold.
The Phantom II was created as a heavy carrier-borne interceptor and only became a universal combat aircraft along the way, serving with the US Navy, the Marine Corps and the US Air Force. The B version was the first carrier form to enter service, the C and D flew with land-based units and the N came from rebuilding older airframes with an extended fatigue life. All of them were powered by a pair of J79 jet engines, whose exhaust section is built differently in this group than on the later machines.
Fit the nozzles only once the rear end is finished, otherwise the thin edges of the petals are easily damaged. Metallic shades come out best on a smooth surface, so it pays off to level the area first and spray it with a polished base. Dust and fuel streaks around the exhaust are done with a thinned dark shade drawn rearwards.
The package holds only the pair of nozzles, intended for a kit in the same scale.
