The real subject

The Kawanishi N1K2-J Shidenkai was a Japanese fighter of the late stage of the Second World War, valued for its good agility and its armament. It grew out of a floatplane fighter and the Allies gave it the code name George.

Use and tips

• The parts are soaked off in water like a decal, but they are thicker, so fixing them with a drop of glue is advisable.
• They are applied to the clean, smooth surface of the cockpit parts of a separately purchased kit.
• The raised instruments can be accentuated with a thin clear varnish.
• A faster and more faithful alternative to colored photo-etched sets.
