P-47D Thunderbolt Bubbletop early – 3D interior decals 1:32 (Quinta Studio)

A set of color 3D decals from Quinta Studio for a model of the P-47D Thunderbolt fighter in the Bubbletop form with a teardrop canopy, in the early version, in 1:32 scale. The details are printed three-dimensionally and come fully colored from the factory on decal carrier film, so once applied they create a realistic instrument panel, side consoles and other cockpit elements without any need for painting. The set is intended for a plastic model of the P-47D Bubbletop in the matching early form. The set is intended for the Trumpeter kit.

The real subject

The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was among the most rugged fighters of the Second World War. The version with a teardrop canopy, known as the Bubbletop, replaced the earlier Razorback and gave the pilot a markedly better view in every direction. Early machines of this version still retained some features of the transitional form.

Application

• The sheet is soaked briefly in lukewarm water and the element is slid off the backing paper onto gloss varnish; do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer.
• The flexible layer follows the shape of the seat, the consoles and the instrument panel well.
• Painting is not necessary; the reflections of the instruments can optionally be fine-tuned with clear varnish.
