Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in the large 1:32 scale from Roden captures the French fighter biplane SPAD XIII c.1 from the period of the First World War. The model offers a well worked-out engine and cockpit, a fine texture of the fabric covering and decals for several color versions. The large scale lets the details of the armament and of the structure of a period biplane show to advantage.
The SPAD XIII was one of the most successful French fighters of the First World War, developed from the earlier SPAD VII. The sturdy, fast machine with a water-cooled engine served not only with the French Air Force but also with airmen of the United States, Great Britain, Italy and other countries. Many famous aces of the period flew the SPAD XIII.
Glue the plastic parts with thin cement and dry-fit the joints. Finish the cockpit and the engine before the fuselage is closed up. Wooden and fabric surfaces come out well with glazed layers and fine shading. Do not forget the bracing wires between the wings, which give a finished biplane its realism. In a large scale patience with the details pays off.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
