A color three-dimensional cockpit interior for a model of the Spitfire Mk.IX in 1:32 scale, printed on decal paper. The elements are soaked briefly in lukewarm water; do not use a decal softener.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Spitfire Mk.IX arose as a quick answer to the German fighters of a new generation. A stronger twelve-cylinder Merlin with a two-stage supercharger was built into the airframe of the older version, and it gave the machine back its edge at high altitudes. The longer nose section and the four-blade propeller became its recognition features. The Mk.IX was built in large numbers and belongs among the most frequently modeled versions of the Spitfire.
The sheet contains three-dimensional color elements of the internal equipment of the cockpit printed on decal paper. The elements have a real thickness, so on the model they read as raised detail and not as printing. The instrument dials, the labels and the shades are finished already in production.
After a short soak in lukewarm water the elements slide off the backing onto their place; do not use a decal softener. The surface must be smooth, degreased, coated with a gloss varnish and ideally painted beforehand in the base shade of the cockpit, so that light edges do not show. The raised plastic details that the new elements are to replace are best sanded away in advance. Set the elements with tweezers and work them into the recesses with a cotton bud.
It will be appreciated by modelers who are building a large Spitfire with the canopy slid back and want a rich interior without the laborious assembly of photo-etch. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
