A more accurate idler wheel cover in 1:35 scale for the Hungarian 40M Turán tank and the Zrínyi assault gun.
Responsibility details are not available.
The 40M Turán was a Hungarian tank of the Second World War armed with a 40 millimeter gun. The Zrínyi assault gun was based on the same chassis, replacing the turret with a low fixed superstructure. Both vehicles therefore share a number of running gear features, the idler wheel at the rear of the track and its cover among them. It is precisely the running gear that is most on view on a model, because it is looked at from close up and from the side.
The set brings a more accurate idler wheel cover in 1:35 scale, usable on models of the Turán and the Zrínyi alike. The part has sharper edges and more readable surface detail than an injection mold can manage, and it is fitted in place of the part from the base kit.
The material is not polystyrene, so ordinary plastic cement will not hold. Use super glue, or two-part epoxy. Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand off the rest so that the shape of the outline is preserved. Before painting, wash the part in warm water with detergent and degrease it, then lay down a primer and only then the top shade. The exact way to fit it is given in the manufacturer's instructions. While assembling the running gear, make sure the wheel keeps its axis in the same plane as the drive sprocket, otherwise the track will run off to the side.
The set is intended for modelers who build Hungarian vehicles in 1:35 scale and want to replace the standard running gear part with a more accurate one. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Check compatibility with your particular kit against the manufacturer's information.
