An injection-molded plastic kit of the British AEC Mk.I heavy armored car in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer MiniArt. It is a richly detailed new mold, and besides the plastic parts the package contains clear plastic for the glazing, photo-etched metal and decals for several marking options. The model ranks among the finely worked kits of this brand.
The AEC Armoured Car was a family of heavy armored cars that the British company Associated Equipment Company developed during the Second World War. The Mk.I version carried the same turret as the Valentine infantry tank, fitted with a 2-pounder gun. Thanks to its massive hull and strong armor protection, the vehicle came across more as an armored car with the performance of a light tank. Mk.I vehicles were deployed above all in North Africa in the closing phase of the desert fighting.
With vehicles it pays to assemble and paint the running gear and the hull interior before you close it up, because these places are hard to reach later. Use liquid cement for plastic and bond the photo-etched parts with super glue. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush. Weathering will bring both desert and European schemes beautifully to life: dark washes will bring out the rivets and pressings, and dust and mud pigments on the running gear and the underside will give the vehicle authenticity.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
