An injection-molded plastic kit of the Austin armored car in the third series, in a boxing focused on Czechoslovak, Russian and Soviet service. According to the name this is the version with an interior, so the model makes it possible to show the inside of the vehicle as well. Miniart is a Ukrainian maker known for fine detail and richly divided sets. The exact number of parts, the extent of the interior and the number of color schemes are given on the box and in the instructions.
Austin armored cars came about in Britain to an order of the Russian army in the period of the First World War. They were built on the chassis of a production car onto which an armored body with two separate turrets side by side was mounted. This arrangement allowed firing in two directions at once, but it raised the weight and the center of gravity, which showed on soft ground. The third series brought changes to the body and the armor against the older versions. The vehicles served on the Eastern Front and after 1917 appeared with a number of formations, among others with Czechoslovak units in Russia and later in Soviet service. A number of them went through reworking in field workshops, so they survive in a very varied form.
On a model with an interior the order of the work is the key. Finish, paint and dust the inside before you close the body up, because afterward you can no longer reach it. Consider leaving a hatch open, so that the interior can be seen. Cut the parts off with a sharp cutter and clean the traces of the gates up carefully. First finish the running gear and the wheels. On the outer armor a dark wash run into the rivets and edges, fine scuffing of the edges with a pencil or silver paint and dust pigments on the lower part of the body and in the wheel arch will stand out.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
