Injection-molded plastic kit of the British Chieftain Mk.10 main battle tank in 1:35 scale from Meng. The model captures the characteristic add-on armor protection of the turret and offers individual track links and photo-etched parts. A display base modeled as a grassy surface is usually included as well; check the exact contents against the particular box.
The Chieftain was a British second-generation main battle tank developed at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s and the main armored force of the British Army from the 1960s to the 1980s. It stood out for its steeply sloped frontal armor, a usefully low silhouette given by the reclining position of the driver, and a powerful rifled 120 mm gun. Versions from the Mk.10 onwards received Stillbrew add-on armor for greater protection of the turret and the front.
Assemble the running gear and the individual tracks first, and only then close the hull; the tracks are more comfortable to paint separately. Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Unify the base with primer and apply the camouflage with an airbrush. Weathering comes from dark washes in the detail, dust pigments on the running gear and chipping on the edges and the walking surfaces.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
