An injection-molded plastic kit of the German development vehicle E 25, one of the projects of the so-called E series from the last years of the Second World War. 1:35 scale, made by Trumpeter. The model belongs to the group of designs that were never realized, which are popular among modelers precisely because they leave a free hand in the choice of camouflage and markings.
The E series, in full Entwicklung, was meant to replace the fragmented range of German tracked vehicles with a few standardized weight classes sharing components. The number in the designation corresponds to the intended weight class, so the E 25 stood between the light E 10 type and the heavy E 50 and E 75. A turretless tank destroyer was planned: a long-barreled gun of 7.5 cm caliber was to be mounted fixed in the front of the hull, which lowered the silhouette and the manufacturing effort alike. The running gear was to be simplified as well. The vehicle never got further than drawings and part-finished components, however, so no combat-capable example was ever built.
Because the real vehicle never served, the modeler is not tied to period photographs and can reach for a late three-tone camouflage scheme or a winter finish with worn white paint. Finish and paint the running gear before you close up the hull and fit the fenders. The sharp edges of the frontal armor come out best with gentle lightening and a dry brush, and mud effects on the underside and around the wheels will then settle the model into its ground.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
