The German jerrycan with a capacity of twenty liters made its name thanks to a shape that allowed two containers to be carried in one hand and filled without a funnel. The pressed reinforcements on the sides increased stiffness and left room for the liquid to expand, and the three handles made passing and stacking easier. The design proved so practical that after the Second World War most armies adopted it in various forms, and in civilian form it is still made today. In practice jerrycans for fuel and for water were told apart by markings on the body.
Small castings usually have the parting line running right across the pressed reinforcements, so sand it away carefully with fine paper so that the profile stays legible. Primer and the base shade follow, ideally with an airbrush, because a brush will not reach into the pressings evenly. Once dry, apply a wash and let it flow into the pressings, then wipe the excess off. For the impression of used equipment, restrained wear on the edges is enough, especially around the cap and the handles. Finally unify the surface with a matte clear coat. We recommend painting off the model and gluing the individual pieces on only when they are finished.
The set is supplied unpainted and without a base. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
