The headsets from the 1:35 German tanker head phones - WWII set by Royal Model complete figures of German tank crews in three versions.
Responsibility details are not available.
Royal Model offers the headsets of German tank crews in three versions in order to cover different types of vehicle and different periods. The parts combine castings and photo-etched metal and are fitted onto crew figures, not directly onto the model of the vehicle.
German armored vehicles had an intercom to which a headset was connected. Part of it was usually a so-called throat microphone that picked up the vibration of the vocal cords: it lay against the throat on a strap and was untroubled by the noise of the engine or of firing. Alongside it, conventional headphones with a separate microphone on a cable were used. The differences between the types are clearly visible on a finished figure and help to tell the driver from the commander.
Remove the original cast headphones from the head with a knife and level the surface. Drill a hole with a fine bit where the cable runs out and insert a thin wire into it; that gives a naturally drooping cable. Degrease the metal parts first. Black rubber does not look flat when a pinch of gray is added to it and the edges are lightened slightly. Leather straps will take a tone a shade warmer than the earcup itself.
The package consists of detail parts without figures; arrange the paints and adhesives separately.
