1:35 German tankers loading ammo in winter dress WWII

The subject

A set of figures of German tank crewmen in winter clothing of the Second World War period in 1:35 scale, captured while loading ammunition. It is a subject that tells a story by itself: a crew is replenishing supplies, the figures lean forward and pass the load to one another, so the scene holds together even without further props.

Where it fits

It comes out best beside a vehicle model in 1:35 scale, where the figures occupy the space around the turret and at the rear. It also serves well on a small vignette, because a working activity gives the figures natural stances and the viewer imagines the rest. Beside a vehicle the figures also give a model scale, so it is immediately clear how big the machine actually is.

Building and painting tips

Cut the excess material and manufacturing marks off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest carefully; on the faces and hands go especially slowly. Before painting, wash and degrease the figures and apply a thin primer. Paint in thin coats from dark shades toward light ones, leaving the shadows in the folds and pulling the highlights onto the edges. Muted gray and white tones with a hint of dirt at the hems and on the knees suit winter coats and overalls. Leave the faces for last, as it is exactly by them that a well-made figure is recognized.

Who it is for

For diorama builders and for anyone who wants to complete a finished model with a scene involving a crew. How many figures the set contains, how many parts they are split into and whether rounds are included as well is given on the manufacturer's packaging.

The model of the vehicle, a base, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
