The GMC CCKW 2 1/2 ton truck (nicknamed the Deuce and a Half or the Jimmy) was one of the most important trucks of the US Army in the Second World War. It was an off-road 6x6 truck with a payload of around 2.5 tons, used to carry troops, ammunition and materiel and also as a chassis for a range of special bodies. It was famous for its reliability and was the backbone of Allied logistics on most fronts.
Liquid cement for plastic and an airbrush are recommended. On military vehicles, assemble and finish painting the chassis and drivetrain, the axles and any interior of the cab or the cargo bed before they are closed up - once assembled they tend to be hard to reach. Apply the base olive shade (Olive Drab) over a good undercoat. For a realistic look use washes to deepen the details and pigments for mud and dust effects on the chassis, the tires and the fenders.
