Domestic wallpapers for a diorama, 1:35 scale

Printed sheets with domestic wallpaper motifs in 1:35 scale for covering inner walls. They suit a living room, a small shop and a room of which only part of a wall is left.

When to fit the wallpaper into the scene

Covering the walls is one of the first jobs on a scene, not one of the last. You cannot get into a finished room with a sheet and a ruler: furniture, figures and railings are in the way, and dripping glue has nowhere to fall but onto finished work. A sensible order is therefore to cover the walls, weather the surface, then fit the floor and only at the end stand the furniture and figures. The exception is scraps and patches, which are added according to the result, once the finished scene is in the light and it is clear where the wall is dull.

The approach that works

• Glue the walls together at a right angle and let the joint cure, and only then measure the sheets.
• Run the sheet right into the corner and trim the surplus once it is dry with a blade run along the edge.
• Let the lower edge overhang below the level of the floor; the floorboards or a baseboard will cover the joint.
• At the ceiling, by contrast, cut accurately; nothing can be hidden there.
• Choose the glue according to the material of the sheets and test it on an offcut; excess moisture will make the surface ripple.

Who the sheets are for

For builders of interior dioramas in 1:35 scale who plan a scene from the walls and want the covering finished before they start on the furniture. The manufacturer states the extent of the package and the range of motifs. The model, figures, furniture, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
