This plastic kit in 1:35 scale captures the German light tank destroyer Hetzer in the early production configuration. The model from Takom is released as a limited edition and uses modern injection molds with finely rendered detail on the hull, the running gear and the superstructure. The kit is supplied as a set of parts in hardened polystyrene together with a decal sheet and instructions.
The Jagdpanzer 38(t), nicknamed Hetzer, was a compact tank destroyer built on the proven chassis of the Czechoslovak Panzer 38(t). It was distinguished by a low silhouette, steeply sloped armor and a 7.5 cm Pak 39 L/48 gun in the front plate. The vehicle was deployed in large numbers at the end of the Second World War, where thanks to its small dimensions and good firepower it was among the favored anti-tank weapons. The early production batches differ from the later ones in a number of production details.
Before assembly, clean up the sprue stubs and parting lines carefully. Use liquid modeling cement for plastic. We recommend a base of primer, an airbrush for even coverage and then accentuating the detail with washes and pigments for convincing mud and dust effects on the running gear. Finish and tone the tracks and the suspension before the final assembly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
