An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the Japanese maker FineMolds. It contains the heavy 120 mm RT mortar used by the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) on a wheeled carriage, together with the truck that tows it. The set renders both the fine detail of the mortar itself and the towing truck with matching parts.
The 120 mm RT mortar originated in France and is built under license in Japan. It rides on wheels and in the field it is towed behind a cross-country truck; once deployed it gives ground units strong fire support. The mortar and its towing truck make up a typical pairing in the armament of the modern Japanese forces.
Glue the plastic with thin cement and assemble the fine mortar parts carefully. Finish the chassis and the vehicle interior before closing it up. Matte olive shades suit modern equipment, and weathering is rounded off with a wash and pigments (mud, dust).
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
