A photo-etch accessory set for building a model of the Soviet heavy tank JS-2 Model 1944 in 1:35 scale. The tank kit itself is not included.
Responsibility details are not available.
The JS-2 was a Soviet heavy tank from the second half of the Second World War. It carried a 122 mm gun — an exceptionally powerful weapon for its time — and heavy armor; it was used mainly to break through fortified positions and support an assault. The Model 1944 version belongs to later production and is usually associated with a simplified hull front with a flat glacis plate instead of the earlier stepped shape.
An accessory set for a model of the JS-2 Model 1944 tank in 1:35 scale. It is listed under the photo-etch category, so it consists of photo-etched parts. On armor photo-etch sets like this, the parts most often replaced are fenders, engine-deck grilles, eyes, mounts, and other thin elements that cannot be faithfully reproduced at full thickness. The manufacturer's instructions give the exact set contents and the list of parts replaced. The set is designed for a specific kit, so check which one it fits before you build.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, right at the fret, and sand down what remains of the fret; breaking them off by hand is not worth it, since the thin part will bend out of shape. Make bends over a straight edge or in a bending tool, always along the marked score line and in one motion. Glue with cyanoacrylate; plastic cement has no effect here. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts and use a primer coat, or the paint will hold poorly and rub off during handling.
The tank kit, paints, and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
